In Imagination Alchemy, we weave your favorite heroes, villains, and magical items into a thrilling fairy tale, crafted on the spot and performed live just for you.

This is storytelling for grown ups. Kids age 12+ welcome. 


Audience participation is introvert-friendly. You'll write your character, object, and setting suggestions on cards before the show. Then, depending on how the story goes, volunteers may be called to join me in the telling.

Emily Stamets  

is a storyteller specializing in original fantasy with a modern, feminist twist. A dynamic and theatrical storyteller, she brings over two decades of Theatre Arts experience to the stage. 

With over 10 years of full-time teaching experience (grades 6-college), and 5+ years of 1:1 coaching experience, Emily is a highly effective teaching artist and coach. 

Director of California Thespians. Active member of Storytellers of San Diego. Recent projects include directing the San Diego Unified Honor Theatre Project for La Jolla Playhouse WOW Festival. 

Learned the art of storytelling with Mark W. Lewis. Studied with Shakespeare & Co in MA. 

Master’s degrees in Theatre Design & Production (SOU) and Education (Harvard); B.A. Drama and B.A. German (UC Irvine)

Emily has completed Tara Mohr's Playing Big Facilitator's Training. 

She lives near San Diego with 20 chickens, 2 cats, 2 moms, 1 husband, and a sourdough starter.
